Carmelo vs LeBron

I use Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James as examples in the Hero Workshop to explain the difference between a hero and a celebrity. I have explained that Carmelo has made poor choices since joining the NBA, especially trying to centre attention on himself. LeBron has stuck with Cleveland and made sure the team benefits from him existing.

Carmelo has just helped my discussion by delivering a sucker punch in a game against New York on Saturday night. His punch came at the end of a fight, making it even more villainous. Carmelo had the opportunity to be a hero with the talent he has and the exposure given in the NBA. He ignored it.

It’s not my story – but I know James did talk about it. Didn’t I use them as an example during staff training? I remember Darnell yelling out how great Carmelo is.
