I am an administrator at a university working with students living in the residence halls. I supervise residents assistants who are responsible for a “building” of about 55 students each. In our training I would like to get permission to use your post with a twist, “Your residents will never remember what you tell them but they will never forget how you make them feel.”

This is a small statement that I think will empower the resident assistants in promoting civility within themselves and those they have to “watch over.”

Thank you in advance for such strong words.

Hi Jo, thanks for reading. Go right ahead. The idea is not mine. I don’t remember where I first heard or read the idea, but not remembering made me write it down myself before I forgot all about it. I think it’s important for teachers and heroes to remember.
